12th EIASM workshop on international management
The workshop is intended to create a forum for scholarly exchange of empirical and conceptual research in international management. Given the workshop character, the number of participants is limited and, hence, a more intense exchange is possible compared to larger conferences. In addition, due to the developmental nature of the event, submissions do not need to be fully polished yet. Junior scholars and more experienced researchers alike have the opportunity to obtain collegial feedback, including from our keynote speakers Yves Doz, Margaret Shaffer and Dana Minbaeva. Furthermore, authors of papers which are already at a more advanced stage have the opportunity to be considered for a special issue which we usually publish from the workshops. A special issue with selected papers from this and the previous workshop will be published in European Journal of International Management.
In addition to the scholarly programme we also place a particular focus on the social aspects and events of the workshop, in order to stimulate informal exchanges among our participants. The social programme will already start Thursday afternoon and finish on Saturday, after the end of the academic programme.
The first ten workshops in this series were organised under the label “International Strategy and Cross-Cultural Management”. However, the workshop organisers decided to widen the scope of the workshop and, hence, relabelled the workshop as “International Management”. To distinguish ourselves from the wider area “International Business”, we focus on the organisation and its members and exclude macro-issues such as international trade, monetary policy etc. from the scope of the workshop.
