Welcome to the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
CBS is approved as an official test site for the JLPT by Japan Foundation, and carries out the test in close collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Denmark.
On this site you may find important information regarding the application process, payment method and schedule of the test, as well as practical instructions on how to find your way to the test location.
The next test is held at CBS on December 7th, 2025.
The application period for the 2025 December test is from mid-August, 2025 (exact date TBA) until October 3rd, 2025.
Application deadline for special test accommodations is in mid-September, 2025 (exact date TBA).
The price for levels N1 to N4 is 800DKK.
For level N5 we offer a "beginner's discount", with a price of 530DKK.
NB! Please leave between 1-5 bank days for the transfer to go through and be registered on our account depending on whether you transfer domestically or internationally.
Received payments are non-refundable, and the last day we accept payments is on the same day of the deadline for submitting applications.

The following steps will explain the procedure of the application process:
Step 1
Please read through the test guide (can also be downloaded from this site) before you start registering.
Step 2
Go to the registration survey and register for the test. Please double check to see that all your information is correct when registering.
Step 3
Pay the test fee to our account in Danske Bank (please refer to "Payment" in the menu for details).
Step 4
When Step 3 is fulfilled, you will by email receive your personal test voucher, which you have to bring to the test site along with photo ID.
For the 2025 December test, N5 costs 530DKK and N1-N4 costs 800DKK.

Expenses in connection with the payment transfer are to be covered by the applicant.
Payment is DKK 800 + bank fees (foreign and local bank fees). NB! For international transfers: The bank fee charged by the bank of the JLPT is 50DKK. Please remember to pay both senders and receivers fee, or alternatively pay 850DKK and choose to pay only senders fee (for N5 that would be 580DKK).
Note: All paid fees are non-refundable.
Only in the case of the local test committee cancelling the test, a refund of the test payment will be given.

Meeting time for participants of all levels is 11:30 where the proctors will start announcing general instruction and check ID before going on to section-specific instructions. All test levels start at 12:00 as listed below. Latecomers are allowed to enter the testing room during the first 10 minutes (unless if it is the listening section). If you miss the first one or two sections you are still allowed to take the rest of the test, but please be informed that if there are sections you do not sit for, no points will be given for the entire test, incl. any sections which you may complete. Thus, a failing mark will be given.

It is possible to buy lunch and refreshments in the canteen during the breaks in between sections.
The test in Copenhagen takes place at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg, located right next to the metro station "Frederiksberg". You can download a map of CBS campus here: cbs_campus.pdf.
From Copenhagen Central Station (København H)
Take the M3 (Cityringen) Metro to and get off at "Frederiksberg" (4 minutes ride). At "Frederiksberg" use the exit at the front of the train (the sign says "Udgang mod Handelshøjskolen"). Walk up the stairs and from there you can see CBS. It is the big building with the glass front diagonally opposite on the right (1 minute walking).
From Sweden
Most trains from Sweden - both from Malmö and Helsingborg/Helsingør stop at "Nørreport" station. At "Nørreport" station change to the metro. Take a metro towards "Vanløse" and get of at "Frederiksberg" (4 minutes ride). At "Frederiksberg" use the exit at the front off the train (the sign says "Udgang mod Handelshøjskolen"). Walk up the stairs and from there you can see CBS. It is the big building with the glass front diagonally opposite on the right (1 minute walking). Please note that "Nørreport" station is undergoing engineering works, and that this might affect your journey.
From the airport
Take the metro towards "Vanløse" and get off at "Frederiksberg" (21 minutes ride). At "Frederiksberg" use the exit at the front of the train (the sign says "Udgang mod Handelshøjskolen"). Walk up the stairs and from there you can see CBS. It is the big building with the glass front diagonally opposite on the right (1 minute walking).
By car or bicycle
Use a map and journey planner. There are plenty of parking spots just outside of CBS, but note that these might be subject to municipal parking fees.
A personal score report will be sent to you by regular mail as soon as we receive it from Japan Foundation, which should be no later than early March. In early February you should be able to access the online score display at the official JLPT website:
www.jlpt.jp. Further information on this will be posted on the official site as well.
