Admission

Q: Do I really need four years of working experience to join?

A: Yes. The CBS Executive MBA believes the practical experiences of our participants enhance class discussions and forms the prerequisite foundation for the accelerated leadership and general management development process.

Q: Is there any way to dispense with the formal requirements?

A: In very rare circumstances the Study Board may grant a dispensation. Please contact our Admission manager Anni Vagner to learn more about this.

Q: Who is the target group?

A: The program is designed for high achieving professionals aiming to advance their career into senior general management direction. The class caters for a wide range of academic backgrounds, for internationally-oriented individuals as well as a broad spectrum of industries.

Application

Q: When does your MBA begin?

A: The CBS Executive MBA commences each year around the middle of January and concludes 22 months later with Graduation Day in October.

Q: When is the application deadline?

A: The application process starts in the middle of January 2010. We accept application on a rolling basis the application deadlines for the next EMBA is:

Funding

Q: Is it possible to join the CBS Executive MBA without a sponsoring company?

A: Yes, if you can provide the necessary funding yourselves. Nevertheless, you must be a full-time employee holding a management position in order to join the program. It is possible to join the CBS Executive MBA without a sponsoring company.

Q: Is it possible to obtain a scholarship for the CBS Executive MBA?

A: No, the tuition is paid by the participant's company or by the participant.

Class content

Q: What is the emphasis of the part-time CBS Executive MBA?

A: The CBS Executive MBA takes a general management and leadership perspective and prepares you to take on broader and more challenging leadership positions. The program seeks to create value for you and your company from day one. The practice-orientation means that what you learn will be applicable right away on your job. Thus, the company-related assignments ensure immediate payback for you and your sponsoring company.

Q: When is class and what is the duration of the program?

A: The CBS Executive MBA is a 22-months, part-time program. The two sessions are held twice a month on:

  1. Friday 15:00 - 19:15 and on Saturday 08:30 - 17:00
  2. Friday 09:00 - 18:00 and on Saturday 08:30 - 12:45

Q: How large is the class?

A: The class size will be approximately 35 to 45 participants. We believe it is important to limit class size, as learning is more effective when it takes place in an environment, where communication is easy and frequent. It allows for close links with faculty, high interaction between class members, and personal attention from the class administration.

Q: How heavy is the study load?

A: For each of the two monthly classes that consists of three sessions each, you should expect to use a total of approximately 8 hours for preparation.

Q: How do the in-company assignments work?

A: The purpose of the in-company assignments is to anchor the academic learning in the modules with the real world of the participant's own company. You select a relevant issue in your company and analyze it using the models, theories and tools learned at the course.

Q: Are there classes in Danish?

A: No, all courses are taught in English, reflecting the international mindset of the program.

Q: Do you follow the normal school holidays?

A: There will be no lectures during the school holidays, except for the winter holiday (around week 7 or 8). However you might have assignments to prepare which overlaps some of the days.

Admission Test

Q: Do you require Executive MBA applicants to take any admission test?

A: Yes, applicants will be invited to take the CBS Admission Test, if they have not taken the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test).

Q: What is the CBS Admission Test?

A: The CBS Admission Test is a multiple choice test on business competences. It is used to evaluate, if our candidates need to take any preparatory courses prior to the start of the program. About the CBS Admissions Test

Q: Where is the Executive MBA classes located ?

A: Classes take place on CBS campus at Dalgas Have, which has ample free parking spaces. CBS can also easily be reached by public transportation. Located just seven minutes from central Copenhagen and next to the metro station, Lindevang, the campus is easy to reach.
