CBS appoints first honorary alumnus
- The distinction of being a CBS honorary alumnus is given in recognition of an individual outside of CBS who has exhibited extraordinary efforts in his or her field but who has also shown a special commitment and loyalty to CBS, explained President Per Holten-Andersen at the CBS Prize Winners Reception, where the honorary alumnus was announced.
The 75-year-old accountant has been devoted to his field and numerous charitable foundations. He has chaired the Danish Society for Education and Business (DSEB), the Corps of Examiners for Business Education at Universities and CBS Academic Housing - just to mention a few.
An obvious choice
Andreas Nicolaisen began at Copenhagen Business School in 1960 and has since had a long and successful career in business while simultaneously working with a variety of foundations.
- Andreas Nicolaisen was an obvious choice as CBS’ first honorary alumnus – both because of his contributions to accounting and because of his commitment to, among others, The Housing Foundation, said Per Holten-Andersen at the award ceremony.
Andreas Nicolaisen is very proud of the award. When he received the invitation for the award, he invited his family, had a glass of champagne and shared the good news. His oldest grand child, who recently began studying International Business at CBS, also joined the festivities.
- This title means a lot to me. Copenhagen Business School has been a large part of my life for more than 50 years, so this recognition makes be both proud and happy.
