Yingjie Qi selected as finalist in the ECB Young Economists’ Competition 2020
Assistant professor at the Department of Finance and member of the FRIC Center, Yingjie Qi, has been selected as a finalist in the ECB Young Economists’ Competition 2020.
Yingjie Qi entered the competition with the paper ‘Big broad banks: How does cross-selling affect lending?’ which investigates the benefits of cross-selling: “Combining loan and non-loan products (cross-selling) has two benefits. It increases credit supply, especially in recessions; and the likelihood of receiving lenient treatment in delinquency. Cross-selling affects lending by reducing information asymmetry and increasing banks’ return from the relationship.”, says Yingjie Qi.
