The Department of Economics conducts cutting-edge research, teaching, and knowledge exchange in the core areas of economics, i.e. microeconomics, macroeconomics, and quantitative methods. The department is especially active in business-related economic research and hosts three research centres: Pension Research Centre (PeRCent), Centre for Innovation and Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure. We offer high quality education within an extensive number of full-time and part-time programs, including a structured PhD program.
At the Department of Economics (CBS ECON) we continuously strive to be one of the leading economics departments within a European Business School. As an Econ Department at a Business School we recognize and embrace the business context in which we operate. We aspire to be internationally recognized for our creative and rigorous contributions to important academic and public debates and through our research-based teaching activities aimed at educating open, curious and transformative global citizens, leaders, researchers and innovators.
