CBS Executive appoints new Programme Director

CBS Executive has appointed Kristoffer Brix Bertelsen as the new Programme Director for the Public Sector Programmes: Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Master of Health Management (MHM). He will join CBS Executives staff on January 16.

Kristoffer Brix Bertelsen (b. 1964) arrives at CBS from a position as Head of Department in FrederiksborgCounty’s Administration for Education, Industry & Culture. He has occupied positions at Danish Research Agency (Head of Section, 1999-2002) and Danish Cultural Institute (Project Co-ordinator, 1998-1999). During the years 1993-1998 he was affiliated with University of Aarhus from where he holds a PhD in Ethnography and Social Anthropology. He graduated from the CBS Executive MPA Programme in 2002.

“Kristoffer has a broad network within the Danish public sector and he knows the conditions for university research and education from own experience. Adding to this his inside knowledge of CBS Executive’s Public Sector Programme, we feel that he is the right person to take on the challenge of continuing the positive development the Public Sector-masters has experienced while at the same time maintaining the high standard of content and teaching that characterises the programme”,

“It is a dream position for me. CBS has created an eminent culture around the master programme and I look forward to the work and cooperation ahead. I see my main role as a catalyst and ambassador and I also look forward to developing the programmes and the network around them together with the Associate Deans. We will especially use our energy on consolidating Master of Health Management – that started in 2005 - after the programme has been so positively received by the first class.”

CBS Executive – Public Sector Programme has offered the Master of Public Administration since 1994. In 2005, the Master of Health Management was added to the programme. CBS Executive also engages in co-operation with Danish and international academic institutions in offering research-based programmes for public sector executive staff. An evaluation by the Danish Evaluation Institute in 2002 placed the MPA at the top of public sector executive programmes in Denmark.
