John Heskett is emeritus professor of design from both Hong Kong Polytechnical University and Illionis Insttitute of Technology. In 2000 he was also a visiting professor at CBS.

He has done research on history and business of design for many years and published a number of books and articles. Among his contributions is the view of design as a particular human competence that finds a number of expressions in various contexts.

John Heskett will speak of design as a strategic opportunity and challenge based on a foundation of design as a basic human capability. He has a strong combination of experiences from China, USA and Europe.

The seminar will be in English.
