Leonard Seabrooke’ article on the ‘Bank for International Settlements’ has been accepted in the journal

New Political Economy, to be published in March this year. Seabrooke highlights how the BIS may be seen as an evolving international ‘quango’ (quasi-autonomous-non-governmental-organisation) that relies on the coordination of closely knit ideational networks of central bankers, regulators, and practitioners in international finance. He also discuses the impact of the ‘Basle II’ process in international financial regulation on advanced and industrializing states, including its emboldening of private of credit rating agencies.
