The manager as conductor
Can Mads Lebech conduct 45 choristers?
With the beautiful building Kilen as a backdrop on the occasion of "Research Day" CBS will be demonstrating "implemented leadership" – in other words: the transfer from old fashioned management where the manager is the one delegating work to modern management which involves the employee and the whole being – including the artistic part.
Mads Lebech has agreed to participate in an experiment and to attempt to conduct 45 choristers from Voces Copenhagen and Carmina guided by the conductor Peter Hanke."The choir will follow a clever conductor – the same goes for a clever manager. Meanwhile it is easy for the individual employee as well as the individual singer to create havock if they don’t like the manager", Conductor Peter Hanke says with a smile."I think it’s a really exciting arrangement. One that I look forward to participating in. It is a daring large scale attempt, not least with me as a conductor of this large choir. If this experiment works anything is possible. It is important to present the newest research, so that we all understand it. Research will be how we make our living in the future."
The Mayor of Frederiksberg, Mads Lebech says and continues: " Here in Frederiksberg we have an educational and research environment developing fast, and we’re very proud of it – and you can experience it during "Research Day".
The experiment will take place on Saturday, May 6th at 11 am in Kilen, Kilevej in Frederiksberg in connection with "Research Day"
from 11 am – 12.30 pm. Kilen will be open, as CBS’ latest building, to anyone interested. The architect Lene Tranberg will be talking about the colloboration between this building and research. The two researchers Peter Hanke and Ole Fogh Kirkeby will afterwards be exhibiting examples of CBS’ research within philosophy and live music; and they will be talking about the source of inspiration that art can be to modern management. Everyone is welcome.
