Professor at CBS, Ole Lange, has written a biography about C.F. Tietgen (1829-1901)  - one of the most controversial figures in Danish business life. The biography is a double portrait of a globally aware capitalist and of the society he shaped for better or worse.

Tietgen created a financial network of everything from railroads, steam ships, telegraph companies to alcohol and beer, which stretched from Jutland to China. But he did so by systematically misinforming the stock exchange, the public and the shareholders and he ventured into very risky business with political content.

Ole Lange’s biography “

C.F. Tietgen – a financier, his empire and his time 1829 – 1901” was published on October 24th at Gyldendal and has gotten great reviews.
