CBS at the Bright Green Expo at Forum

The American energy and trade ministers, HRH the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and 170 of the world’s leading businesses showed up at the Bright Green Expo at Forum this Saturday and Sunday. CBS climate researchers gave speeches on climate strategies for businesses, green innovation, CO2 quota trade and the role of the corporate sector in terms of the climate changes.

CBS has a role – and a responsibility

- We were not there to sell a product but rather to demonstrate that we have a role to play and a responsibility. Climate research and teaching in management, economics, organisation and strategy are crucial to the way in which the corporate sector is going to handle the climate change issue. Climate solutions are not created by engineers alone. Understanding innovation, management, the legal framework, cleantech and sustainable consumption patterns are all essential to solving the climate change problem, says Sara Julie Møhlenberg, Climate Network Coordinator at CBS Climate Strategies for Business.

Professors, assistant professors and PhD students from CBS were present at the Bright Green Expo, which was visited by COP15 delegates, the corporate sector, students and people with an interest in the climate issue.

We are part of the solution

- We believe that the social sciences and business-humanities represented by CBS are as vital to the solution to the climate challenges as the natural sciences and technology. We wish to focus on this part of research and teaching, which is why it was important to us to participate at the Bright Green Expo. We participated because we are part of the solution, Sara Julie Møhlenberg says.

Climate on the agenda

This spring, CBS is offering its students a new BCs in Economics and Business Administration elective called Climate Strategies for Business, and a new elective to students on the MSc in Business Administration and Commercial Law programme. The elective is called ’Erhvervsjuridiske aspekter af klimaspørgsmålet’ (the legal aspects of the climate issue in a commercial context).
