CBS associate professor new member of international commission
Evaluation of Institut für Deutsche Sprache
How is German state funding spent in terms of language research? Associate Professor Peter Colliander from CBS is going to help answer that question. Institut für Deutsche Sprache (IDS) in Mannheim is an institution that focuses on German language research. Every seventh year, Leibniz-Gemeinschaft, an association of 86 different research institutes, assesses whether or not the German state funding subsidised to IDS is used in a proper and constructive manner. Peter Colliander has been appointed member of the international commission responsible for this evaluation.
A great honour
- Personally, it is a great honour as both Leibniz-Gemeinschaft and Institut für Deutsche Sprache (IDS) belong to Germany’s scientific elite, Peter Colliander says.
Peter Colliander was chosen to represent the foreign users of IDS because he represents non-German Germanists in other connections as well. Furthermore, he has been Professor at the Institut für Deutsch als Fremdsprache, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, for a number of years, which, according to Peter Colliander, has probably been contributory to the nomination.
