Professor Lars Bo Kaspersen receives the 2009 Sven Henningsen Grant

Lars Bo Kaspersen from the International Center for Business and Politics and Jørn Loftager from Aarhus University have received the grant in recognition of the book ”Classical and Modern Political Theory” (Klassisk og Moderne Politisk Teori).

1273 pages and eight years: the big picture

Over 69 chapters and 1273 pages, the authors present the reader with the political theory in its widest sense. The book spans from the classical antique theory to the newest theories in the field.

- In Danish terms, this book is a unique example showing that it is possible to communicate and present even complicated political theories in a way that is accessible to the general public. The Board of Trustees states that it regards the book this year’s best example of the above.

It has been under way for eight years, and the Board of Trustees predicts that it will remain a central contribution within its field.

Fact

This years’ grant was shared by two books. The other grant recipient is Associate Professor Claus Bundgård Christensen from Roskilde University. He receives the grant in recognition of his book ”Danskere på Vestfronten 1914-1918” (Danes at the Western Front 1914-1918).
