Maja Horst in the programme series Danskernes Akademi

In the new DR series Danskernes Akademi, world-class research is combined with traditional Danish 'hygge' and popcorn in front of the television set. In the programme, the most recent research findings are discussed covering areas such as economics, health, dance, the Russian Revolution and now also research communication. Topics that may not make Danes join the university, but which can easily spark an interest in the comfort of their own home.

So far, three of CBS' researchers, Ove Kaj Pedersen, Morten Bennedsen and most recently Maja Horst, have been in front of the camera.

Communicating research communication

On 25 March 2010, Maja Horst drew attention to research communication. During the lecture, Maja Horst went into detail with her work with and the subsequent reactions to a discussion set-up about stem cell research and future regulation thereof.

The discussion set-up was placed in the Field's shopping centre at Amager. People were given the opportunity to express their wishes and create a framework for new research through interaction. They were not, however, asked to express their views in the conventional way. Instead, they went for walks, moved markings and used sound balls as well as turntables. One of the most important points is that new technology is not only created at the institutions but through dialogue with the general public.
