CBS wants to create value for society
CBS must help to solve problems faced by the region
On 30 August 2010, CBS’ Board of Directors unanimously adopted a new strategy, ’Business in Society’, which focuses on research and teaching as catalysts for growth and value in society,
- It means that we have to work really hard to create value in the surrounding community. This goes for our graduates, who have to meet the needs of the business sector and society for highly skilled employees, and it goes for our research, which not only has to be of very high academic quality, but also needs to contribute to solving the problems in our society, says Johan Roos, President of CBS.
Rooted in Denmark, Southern Sweden and Northern Germany
Sustainability, design thinking and public private partnerships are some of the problems that students and researchers should concentrate on.
- These are very specific societal challenges, which we must contribute to solving by working with them in our research and teaching across disciplines and in partnership with private companies and other educational institutions. At the same time, these challenges can help distinguish us from others and prepare the ground for our global commitment rooted in our region - Denmark, Southern Sweden and Northern Germany.
The strategy has been developed through an involving process, in which students, administrative and academic staff at CBS have contributed to developing CBS' strategic direction within a vast number of areas.
