Every CBS student gets a diploma
PRESS RELEASE
The past days' media coverage has resulted in a number of misunderstandings and caused concern with several MBA students. Acting CBS President Alan Irwin therefore heavily underlines that all programmes at CBS are perfectly legal and that all students receive a diploma.
CBS still offers EMBA, EMBA Flex, Full-time MBA and Blue MBA. Everybody who is enrolled in and completes an MBA programme at CBS will receive a diploma issued by CBS. The MBA programmes keep all of CBS' accreditations. For instance, CBS has just received a 5-year EQUIS accreditation.
The confusion has been promoted by the press coverage of the merger between SIMI and the CBS Centre for Continuing Education (HHE) into a new foundation called CBS-SIMI Executive. It has been written that this foundation is illegal. That is not true. The foundation is perfectly legal and offers a number of post-experience courses, but not an MBA.
MBA students from the former SIMI have been placed in a very difficult situation in connection with the merger, because SIMI has terminated its previous accreditation. It is very unfortunate, but several parties - including CBS - have expressed their will to help the students out of the unfavourable situation. It must be emphasised, however, that this MBA doesn't have anything to do with CBS' own MBA programme.
