Education and career across borders
PRESS RELEASE
The spotlight will be on Danish pedagogy when more than 4,000 employees from higher educational institutions from the whole world come to Denmark to participate in the European Association for International Education’s 23rd Annual Conference. It will be held in Copenhagen from 13-16 September and will be hosted by Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
Danish education seen with foreign eyes
The annual conference focuses on international higher education, and European cities, which have the facilities and infrastructure to house a conference of this size, take turns at holding it. CBS has won the host rights this year by virtue of a significant contribution from the Foundation for the Promotion of Denmark.
- Being able to host this conference is a unique opportunity to brand Denmark as a country of education, says Acting President Alan Irwin.
The conference theme is 'Cooperate - Innovate - Participate'. Three keywords that characterise Denmark as a country of education. Close cooperation with the business community and public authorities, a strong focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, and active students in close interaction with lecturers and fellow students are all elements that mark the Danish educational system.
More foreign students and researchers to Denmark
This year’s conference is set to break all attendance records for the EAIE, with more than 4,000 participants attending from 80 countries and the largest exhibition to date. Participants will be able to visit 19 Danish educational institutions before the conference commences at the Bella Center.
Challenges and opportunities in connection with international education (language, culture, marketing and recruitment of foreign students, legislation, problems of accreditation, quality assurance) will be discussed in more than 30 workshops and 100 sessions. At the same time the conference is an opportunity to foster new partnerships and alliances.
- The way this conference exposes Denmark as a country of education really helps attract more foreign students and international researchers. It strengthens Denmark's profile in the global competition for knowledge resources, says Alan Irwin.
