Christian Tangkjær is newly appointed vice dean for continuing education

Up to now, CBS has not had a vice dean for both the diploma programmes and the executive programmes, which include more than 2,100 students. One of Christian's most important tasks is to develop a common strategy for the programmes and strengthen the relations to the private and public sectors, which send hundreds of employees to CBS for further management training.

Christian has more than 15 years of research and management experience from both public and private organisations and must ensure a continued development and the quality of the strategically important area of continuing education.

The right profile

Christian Tangkjær has left his position as a management consultant and partner in a consultancy firm to take up the position as vice dean at CBS. Before that, Christian Tangkjær was head of secretariat in ACE Denmark under the Science Ministry, where he was responsible for developing the very first accreditation concept for university education in Denmark.

Christian was recruited to the then new institution ACE Denmark from a position as development and communication manager at BEC Business Education College.

According to Dean of Education Jan Molin, Christian Tangkjær has the right profile to manage the comprehensive continuing education area at CBS.

- To further ensure and develop the high degree of quality of our diploma and executive programmes, we have chosen to establish the new vice dean function. It will support a well-functioning academic content with the best researchers and ensure that CBS is still able to deliver management education at the highest international and academic level. Christian has management experience from development-oriented organisations and a rare combination of research-based academic skills coming from his PhD and development-oriented insight. In addition, he has special competences within quality control and development, which will strengthen CBS in the long term and benefit both students and lecturers.

Back to research and education

Christian Tangkjær is looking forward to taking up his new position:

- CBS is an internationally recognised business school and a university going through constant development. I am looking forward to returning to the research and education environment. This position is the sum of everything I have been working with throughout my professional career. I really feel comfortable in development-oriented academic organisations and am looking forward to being responsible for a strategy that will unite and create synergy across the individual programmes. It is about ensuring an even more solid internal base for the programmes as well as a solid external integration, so that CBS still sets the agenda in the continuing education area - an area that will not cease to grow in the future.
