Framework Grant for Marcus Asplund

The Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science has granted CBS, Department of Economics Professor Marcus Asplund DKK 250,000 DKK for the  framework "Industrial Structure and International Trade". Professor Asplund will work closely with CBS Economics Department Assistant Professor David Jinkins, and researchers from University of Tokyo and Hitotsubashi University.

Using a unique firm-level Japanese data set, the research team wishes to create rather a firm-level measure of supply chain position. Using such a measure, they may be able to develop a test of recent theories of ownership structure along the supply chain. In addition, the correlations between supply chain position and investment and other firm decisions will help to motivate new theories of firm behaviour.
