My research revolves around the organization and politics of expertise. I am interested in how networks of professionals, experts, and foundations shape climate politics and core knowledge producing organizations such as universities. To tackle these issues, my research draws on a variety of different methods such as social network analysis, sequence analysis as well as qualitative methods such as interviews and document analysis.  

Currently, my research revolves around two issues:

1. How the rise of large-scale funding from primarily private foundations are transforming the university and the research areas, careers, and identities of academic professionals, with a specific focus on research related to climate change and sustainability.
2. How the emergence of what I call ‘green transition experts’ are shaping the formulation and implementation of climate action in states and companies.
