CBS will be welcoming an experienced leader when Inger Askehave, Pro-rector of Aalborg University, takes on the newly established position as deputy president of CBS on 1 February. Askehave is a professor of corporate communication and business language, and the appointment committee and the CBS Board of Directors have placed emphasis on her extensive university management experience. Nikolaj Malchow-Møller, President and chairman of the appointment committee, points out that Inger Askehave has 10 years of experience in university management at senior level and has been head of department as well as programme director.
”I am convinced that Inger Askehave’s leadership skills, experience, personal competences and management style will be a good match for the current Senior Management and CBS. She will provide us with a solid basis to develop our strategy with the organisation through a trustful relationship with CBS’ heads of department and consequently all our deeply committed researchers and lecturers at the departments,” says Nikolaj Malchow-Møller.
As deputy president of CBS Inger Askehave will become part of CBS’ Senior Management and thus co-responsible for the day-to-day and strategic management. In addition, Inger Askehave will have the direct management responsibility for CBS’ department heads and departments with almost 1,500 permanent and part-time academic employees. Askehave will also substitute for the President.
Inger Askehave looks forward to the new challenge:
”I have applied for this new position because I am motivated by CBS’ new ambitious strategy and the possibilities provided to set a clear, strategic direction for CBS. The goal of influencing and creating societal transformation is an interesting ambition and I look forward to getting to know the department heads, departments and employees and discover how we can strengthen our role as a university with knowledge and insight to support and drive the development of society,” says Inger Askehave who takes on the position on 1 February 2021.
