Three new honorary doctors appointed by CBS

Three honorary doctorates will be conferred on Friday 18 March at CBS to professors from the University of California, University of Victoria, and the Weatherhead School of Management. Attend their inaugural lectures on the same day and learn more about strategic analyses, the global workplace, and what's new in digital innovation.

Every year in connection with CBS' Annual Celebration, researchers, who have made remarkable contributions to research, dissemination and teaching, are honoured. On the evening of Friday 18 march, the three new honorary doctors will be celebrated. The honorary doctors often have a close cooperation with one or more departments at CBS and the celebration encourages further cooperation in the future.

The 2016 honorary doctors are:

Internationally recognised professor of corporate strategy
Margarethe F. Wierserma, Professor at the University of California, is one of the three professors that are presented with an honorary doctorate in 2016 at CBS. She has been appointed by the Department of Strategic Management and Globalization. She is professor of strategic management at the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California.

Leading expert of international business
Mary Yoko Brannen, Professor at the University of Victoria has been appointed by the Department of International Economics and Management. Professor Brannen is an expert in cross-cultural research and qualitative studies of complex cultural organisational phenomena.

Award-winning and extremely cited professor of IT
Kalle Lyytinen is the Iris S. Wolstein Professor of Information Systems and Management Design, and Head of the Design & Innovation Department at the Weatherhead School of Management. He has been appointed honorary doctor by the Department of IT Management at CBS. He has won several awards for his IT research and has written countless academic articles and books about the subject. Furthermore, he is among the five most cited scholars.
