When is the deadline?
The deadline for applying for bachelor programmes in quota 2 is 15 March at 12.00 noon CET. This is also the deadline for uploading all your documentation for your quota 2 activities on optagelse.dk.
Do you have a foreign upper secondary exam?
The deadline for applying in both quota 1 and quota 2 for applicants with a foreign upper secondary exam is 15 March 12.00 noon CET.

Check the entry requirements in English
When applying for a bachelor programme you must make sure that you fulfil the entry requirement in English. Read more below.
Are you applying for a Danish-taught programme?
If you are applying for a Danish-taught programme, you must fulfil the specific entry requirement English B or English level B with a minimum grade point average equivalent to the Danish 6.0.

If you do not meet the specific entry requirement for English
If you do not meet the specific entry requirement for English, there are different options for fulfilling it, e.g. by taking a Cambridge Exam.
Please note, it is NOT possible to fulfil a specific entry requirement for English through a language test such as TOEFL or IELTS.

Do you fulfil English A with your upper secondary exam?

Did you not have English A during your upper secondary exam?
If you have not had English A during your upper secondary exam, you can fulfil it by:
- Taking a language test: To take a language test, you must have passed English level B with a grade point average equivalent to the Danish 6.0. You must ensure that the language test you take is approved by CBS, and that you achieve the required minimum score.
- Taking a Cambridge Exam.
Take the test as soon as possible!
You must upload documentation that you have taken and passed the language test before 5 July, 12:00 CET. To ensure that your test/exam scores are available to us on time, it is important that you sign up for a test/exam taking place at least three-four weeks before the deadline for uploading documentation to your application. You might for example be surprised to find out that all the test dates have already been booked or you may fail your first attempt.
Supplementary courses during the summer
It is not possible to take supplementary courses during the summer. All entry requirements must be met and documented by 5 July at 12:00 CET. Remember to upload your documentation.
Do you need to write a motivational essay?
For some programmes, you need to write a motivational essay as part of your application in quota 2. This is the most important part of your quota 2 application so allow yourself adequate time and put energy into writing it.
The following programmes require a motivational essay:

Please note: If the programme you are applying for is not on this list, you do not have to write a motivational essay, so save yourself the trouble. Your motivational essay will not be read, even if you upload it.

What to include in your motivational essay?
We want to admit students who come from various backgrounds, with different interests and dreams, and therefore we would like to know more about you:
- What do you find exciting about the programme? It could be specific subject areas, combinations of subjects or methods of working during the programme, or perhaps how it will help you build upon your own background.
- What does community mean to you in your studies? It could involve academic collaboration with other students, a safe and inspiring study environment, the ability to be yourself, or something else that is important to you.
There are also some requirements and recommendations for you motivational essay.
How do we assess your application in quota 2?
In quota 2 we make an overall assessment of you application. The quota 2 assessment includes:
- Exam results for each specific entry requirement fulfilled
- Extra-curricular activities such as employment, extended periods abroad, residential periods at a Folk High School etc.
- Motivational essay for certain programmes and applicants.

How to apply
You send your application via optagelse.dk. You have to send your application no later than 15 March at 12.00 noon CET.

You must also remember to upload documentation for extra-curricular activities to be assessed in quota 2 no later than 15 March at 12.00 noon CET. This includes:
- Motivational essay
- Exam certificate
- Documentation for work experience
- Documentation for stays abroad
- Documentation for other education
- Documentation for Danish residence permit, if necessary
If you do not already meet the entry requirements, you must upload documentation for meeting them no later than 5 July at 12:00 CET.

Below you can see the answers to three frequently asked questions about admission to CBS:
Do I get a confirmation on my application?
CBS does not send any confirmation that we have received your application or signature page.
If you apply with your MitID, you will receive an email from optagelse.dk once you have approved your application. This is your confirmation that you have applied. You will receive one email per approved application.
What if I apply without MitID?
If you do not have MitID, you must print and sign a signature page for each programme you are applying for. You must send the signature pages to signaturepage@cbs.dk no later than 15 March at 12:00 CET.
Afterwards, you will receive an automatic email response as confirmation that CBS has received your email. Note that it is your responsibility to make sure all your signature pages are attached to the email.

Do I need to pay tuition fee?
The following applicants do not have to pay tuition or application fees:
If you have a Danish residence permit, you might be exempt from paying a tuition fee.
