Answer

If you are accepted to CBS, you will receive you letter of admission on 26 July 2024.

You should be aware of the following:

  • If you have been accepted to a bachelor programme at CBS, you will receive an encrypted e-mail from CBS Bachelor Admission.
  • We start sending out admission letters at midnight, but it may take a few hours before all answers have been sent.
  • You only receive one admission letter, regardless of how many places applied for.
  • You will only receive an admission letter from the institution which offers you a study place. You will not receive an admission letter from each institution to which you have applied.
  • If you are not accepted to any of the institutions, then you will receive a rejection letter from KOT (Den Koordinerede Tilmelding).
  • If you do not fulfil all of the entry requirements to any of the programmes to which you have applied, you will receive a separate letter regarding this. Please note that even if you have been accepted to one of your other priorities, you will also receive this letter if you are missing any entry requirements for any of your other priorities as we are obliged to inform applicants if they do not fulfil entry requirements.

You have been offered a study place

If you have been offered a study place, then you need to either accept or decline it.

Accepting an offer of a study place
If you are offered a study place, you must accept the offer if you wish to start the programme. You should accept the offer digitally using the link and password in your acceptance letter.

If your acceptance of the offer has not been registered by 30 July at 23:59 (11.59 midnight), your study place will be annulled.

Change of programme
It is not possible to change programme. If you wish to change to another programme, you must decline your offer and apply again next year.

Declining an offer of a place of study
If you are offered a place of study and you do not wish to start studying, you must remember to decline the offer. It is not possible to defer acceptance to the following year.

You are conditionally accepted

If you have received a letter of conditional acceptance for a certain programme, then you are not fully admitted at the programme until you have fulfilled all the requirements for admission.

Remember to accept your offer
You must remember to accept the offered place of study by the 30 July at 23:59 (11.59 midnight)You should accept the offer digitally using the link and password in your acceptance letter.

Documentation for fulfilling the condition
You must send documentation proving that you have fulfilled the remaining conditions no later than 15 September. You are enrolled at the programme only provisionally and your enrolment will be annulled if you do not fulfil all the conditions by the given deadline. You can send the documentation to bacheloradmission@cbs.dk, or send it to: CBS, Att.: Admission Office, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg, DK-Denmark.

You have not been accepted to your first priority

Unfortunately, not everybody is accepted to their first priority. If you do not get into your first priority, it could be for one of the following reasons:

  • you have not fulfilled the entry requirements for that particular degree programme
  • your GPA is not high enough to be admitted based on your GPA only (Quota 1)
  • there were other applicants better qualified than you in the overall assessment of applicants (Quota 2)

If you have any questions as to why you have not been accepted to your 1st priority, you are welcome to contact CBS Admissions at bacheloradmission@cbs.dk.

Your application is rejected

Unfortunately not all applicants are accepted to CBS, and some applicants will therefore find their applications rejected.  If you do not get into CBS, it could be for one of the following reasons:

  • you have not fulfilled the entry requirements for that particular degree programme
  • your GPA is not high enough to be admitted based on your GPA only (Quota 1)
  • there were other applicants better qualified than you in the overall assessment of applicants (Quota 2)

If you have any questions as to why you were not accepted to CBS, you are welcome to contact CBS Admissions at bacheloradmission@cbs.dk.

Available places
At CBS, we unfortunately do not have any available places leftover and it is likewise not possible to go on a waiting list. If you would like to start studying the same year, you can read more about available places at www.kot.dk. This is where you can also check where any available spots at other universities may be. If you want to study at CBS, you must wait and apply the following year. Until that point, you can research how best to improve your chance of acceptance – see, for example, Quota 2 or contact Study Guidance.

Questions concerning the admission letter

If you have any questions concerning your admission letter, or the assessment of your application, you are welcome to contact CBS Admissions at bacheloradmission@cbs.dk. This is also the case if you are dissatisfied about how your application has been assessed or if you believe that your application has been unfairly assessed. We will always try to resolve any misunderstandings or correct any possible mistakes from our side.

Appealing

What can you appeal against?
The conditional letter of acceptance/letter of rejection that you have received is termed a "decision", meaning that we have made a decision concerning your application. Under Danish law you may appeal our decision if you believe that the legal basis for the decision is not correct and/or not in accordance with the rules and regulations governing admission at higher education in Denmark. You cannot appeal our professional judgement, as CBS Admissions Office's decision is final and cannot be tried before any other authority.
You can complain about our assessment if you believe that the legal basis for the assessment is not in keeping with the rules and regulations. The deadline for complaining is two weeks from the day that the reply has been sent to you.

Contact us before you appeal
We always recommend you to contact us in either case, as this may clear up any misunderstandings or mistakes. Please send an email to bacheloradmission@cbs.dk from the same email address used for your application at Optagelse.dk.

When you appeal
CBS Legal treats complaints on behalf of the president. Therefore, the complaint is to be addressed to the president and sent to CBS Legal, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg or by email to legal@cbs.dk.

Please note that CBS Legal does not make a re-assessment of your application. CBS Legal checks whether your case has been treated in accordance with applicable rules and practice, see the Ministerial Order on Admission and Enrolment on Master’s (Candidatus) Programmes at Universities. Consequently, CBS Legal does not re-assess your case as regards the professional assessment made by Student Affairs.

Time limit
The letter of appeal must be submitted within two weeks from the date of the letter and must be specific as to which part of the decision you wish to appeal.
