PhD Defence: Oliver-Alexander Press
In order to obtain the PhD degree, Oliver-Alexander Press has submitted his thesis entitled:
Essays on Household Finance
This thesis comprises three distinct chapters, each examining different aspects of households’ financial decision-making. The first chapter examines the adjustments households make to the equity share of their non-pension portfolios in response to increased equity exposure within their pension funds. The second chapter investigates the asymmetric impact of expectations of higher inflation vs. lower inflation on household consumption and savings behavior. The final chapter explores how households manage their deposit holdings, particularly in response to exogenous liquidity shocks. All three chapters document new empirical facts that contribute to a deeper understanding of households’ financial decision-making.
The thesis will be available from research.cbs.dk
