CBS Maritime Ph.D. Seminar on Austrian Economics by Dr. Walter Block.

The day is open to researchers and students at all level of familiarity with the Austrian School of Economic Thought. The Austrian School have in recent time become a household name in important areas for management research such Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management, but important differences still exist. This day is a rare chance to engage Austrian theory and method with one of the modern masters. The day will also include a chance to present your research to the seminar for feedback. The seminar will cover such topics as Austrian approaches to research and economics, Austrian business cycle theory, and why private organizations matter. We will also on the day have a visit from Dr. Henrik Sornn-Friese who will talk about the benefit of doing research (Austrian or otherwise) within maritime economics and management.
Practicalities:
The course will take place 30th of May from 9.00 until late afternoon. The Venue is Kilen (the Wedge) room Ks.2.75. Kilevej 14A, 2000 Frederiksberg.
Application:
Participation is free, but space very limited. All researchers and students from all institutions are welcome to apply however preference will be given to those with a clear theoretical and/or topic based application. Please send CV, whether and what research you like to present and a short (max 500 words) reason for attending to hv.ino@cbs.dk by 18 May. Participants will be notified on a running basis.
