Catherine holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Logistics and a Master's degree in Management Accounting and Business Analytics from Reykjavík University. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from Reykjavík University in 2020. Catherine joined the Accounting department in 2021.
Her research interests are Budgeting, Management Control Systems, and Management Accounting. She has conducted both quantitative and qualitative research.
Recent research projects focus on Management Control Systems changes within the banking system in Iceland, and on Budgeting in private organizations.
She is a member of both the American and European Accounting Association. At CBS, Catherine teaches Cost and Management Accounting to master students and Management Control Systems to Bachelor students.
