Præsentation

Cristiana Parisi is Associate Professor in Management Control. Her research interests lie in the area of performance management and mainly focus on the conditions and consequences of the implementation of management control technologies within organisations. Her research is interdisciplinary and is both qualitative and quantitative in nature. Specifically, her work focuses on the pervasive and enabling characteristics of management practices and embraces three broad areas: 1) the antecedents and consequences of the adoption managerial technologies in general and performance management systems in particular with a specific focus on sustainability; 2)  social and environmental accounting and accountability, also related to the field of value chain management and 3) the implications of advanced technologies and their effects on management practices and on the transition towards circular economy.

Cristiana is an acknowledged member of the performance management research community and she is part of the Editorial Board of the Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal (AAAJ) (3 star AJG, A+ ABDC).

Additionally, Cristiana’s research projects have consistently obtained external funds from private and public sources. One example is the Horizon 2020 Innovation Action project “constRuctive mEtabolic processes For materiaL flOWs in urban and peri-urban environments across Europe (REFLOW)” that she is leading. REFLOW is the largest project of this kind ever obtained by Copenhagen Business School. In fact, REFLOW’s total budget is 10 Million Euros and it involves 28 partners over 10 European Nations. In line with Cristiana’s research interests, REFLOW aims at translating the ambiguous concept of circular economy into practice at the urban level, with a special focus on the social impact of circular economy practices, and the mediation of DLT technologies. The project aims at implementing Circular Economy practices within six European cities including capitals and small towns: Amsterdam, Berlin, Cluj-Napoca (Rumania), Milan, Paris, and Vejle (Denmark).

Another example of Cristiana’s funded projects is the “Marketization and operationalization of sustainable ship recycling” within the international research collaboration “Governance and Innovation for a Sustainable Maritime Supply Chain” (2018-2023) granted by the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council ($2.5 million CAD).
