3 research labs, 1 mission: to push object oriented programming into the internet of things
The 2010 European Conference on Object Oriented Programming[http://ecoop2010.uni-mb.si/] hosts a tutorial and paper by Rasmus Pedersen (Embedded Software Laboratory), Eric Arsenau (Sun Research Labs), and Eric Jul (Bell Labs).
The topics are:
-
Embedded systems and object oriented programming is fundamental to new areas.
-
LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT[https://nxtsquawk.dev.java.net/] is a new affordable platform destined to be the defacto platform for embedded systems programming.
-
Java is a very popular programming language and Squawk[https://squawk.dev.java.net/] is Sun’s (Oracle) answer to object oriented embedded programming.
Rasmus Ulslev Pedersen is a member of the prestigious LEGO MINDSTORMS Community Partner program and is the first researcher to provide an open source toolchain to the micro processor in NXT.
