Interview about the new book by Thomas Piketty: CBS ECON professor on Danish radio

Associate professor from CBS ECON, Birthe Larsen, talks about the new book by Thomas Piketty: Capital et Ideologie in the radio programme P1 Orientering (in Danish).

In the book Piketty compares countries over time and uses this comparison to argue that different inequality levels may be reached for the same income level. It is therefore a political and ideological decision which inequality level an economy wants to reach. Thomas Piketty then proposes policy components to reduce inequality consisting of progressive taxation on income, wealth and property as well as basic income.
