Workshop on supervision of PhD students in procurement

On 20th February 2009 the University of Nottingham hosted an Asia-Link workshop on supervision of PhD students in public procurement. All the partners of the Asia-Link Consortium were represented at the workshop which was also attended by academics from the Universities of Stellenbosch and the Western Cape, South Africa, as part of the British Academy-funded Africa partnership in public procurement between these universities and the University of Nottingham.

The workshop addressed best practice in PhD experience and comprised presentations by academic and management staff from various universities on their own experiences and perceptions followed by discussion sessions. The aim of the workshop was to support and develop PhD programmes in public procurement in the partner institutions and beyond, as part of promoting teaching and research in public procurement in higher education.
