The origin of the competitive state
- I believe in the competitive state as the modern welfare state. These are the words of Danish Finance Minister Bjarne Corydon. This statement caused quite a stir - won't a competitive state rule out a welfare state? In the first of five lectures, Ove K. Pedersen, Professor at CBS, who introduced the concept of the competitive state in 2011, and Bent Winther, Editor at Danish newspaper Politiko (Berlingske), will discuss how a new understanding can form the basis to characterise Denmark as a competitive state.

Strategic leadership in practice
The private and public sector are facing major challenges in a global reality - with fierce competition and a larger demand for a productivity increase. The strategic leadership must be at its best, but strategies also have to be realised at the bottom of the organisation. Together with the Danish Association of Lawyers and Economists, CBS has invited three presenters with different approaches to change management to a debate meeting. One of them is Steen Hildebrandt, Professor of Management and Organisation at Aarhus University, who will give a presentation on the types of leadership that motivate and involve employees.
