SINGAPORE, 27 March 2025 — Global maritime leaders, academics, and policymakers convened today at the SMU Maritime Thought Leadership Conference, part of Singapore Maritime Week 2025, under the theme ‘Port Innovation for the Green Transition.’ Jointly organized by Singapore Management University (SMU) and CBS Maritime at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), the conference emphasized the importance of international collaboration in tackling the urgent challenge of maritime decarbonization.

The 2018 conference of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) focused on “Blue Growth” and “the Blue Economy“ as a potential driver of sustainable growth. With the organization of the 2018 IAME-conference in Mombasa (Kenya), the African continent as a major vector of this future development was a highly debated topic by the Maritime Economists community. CBS Maritime is happy to have been strongly represented in the debate, providing answers and reflections on some of the questions asked.

The Global Supply Chain and Logistics Management (GSCLM) Program is the result of a collaboration between Copenhagen Business School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen and The University of British Columbia, which brings top students from three continents together in an ambitious and multicultural environment. In November a group of 39 students visited Hamburg on a five day study trip.

By invitation from Danish Ports (Danske Havne), CBS Maritime Director, Henrik Sornn Friese, attended the study trip to Shanghai the second week of September. The delegation visited some of the worlds largest ports along with the citys renowned maritime university.
