The Leadership of Art – The Art of Leadership

Event with Michael Christiansen, General Manager of The Royal Theatre, arranged by CBS Executive.

Managing the highly diverse art forms (acting, ballet, and opera) in a somewhat politicized context has not been without difficulties. However, Michael Christiansen has succeeded in doing so and become a role model for mastering the fine balance between management and leadership, hence the title of his lecture.

During the past 12 years, Michael Christiansen has successfully reorganized and further developed the Royal Theatre. Furthermore, the Royal Theatre has received the largest donation ever from the Danish private sector: A.P.Møller-Mærsk donated a new opera building at Holmen. Simultaneously, Michael Christiansen managed to secure a new building for the theatre, leaving the old building at Kongens Nytorv primarily for the ballet.
