The seminar takes van Leeuwen’s recent book
Introducing Social Semiotics as a point of departure for a discussion of his research on visual semiotics. It further discusses the characteristics of visual business communication (in advertisements, brochures, web pages etc.) and its interaction with other modes of communication.
