CBS at the People’s Political Festival
CBS president Per Holten-Andersen and numerous CBS researchers will participate again this year in the annual People’s Political Festival, where debates will take place on the opportunities and challenges society faces. CBS is both co-organising and participating in various debates on topics ranging from management, gender equality and finance to education, digitisation, employment and growth, plus more. Expand your horizons at this year’s People’s Political Festival on topics such as how to take advantage of the entire talent pool, the significance of big data, whether there is such a thing in recruiting as a perfect match between job openings and new employees, whether the knowledge society is off the agenda and the role of universities in 2030.

Pension systems in an era of uncertainty
Would you like to learn more about the various aspects of the pension system? Attend PeRCent’s annual conference, where you can participate in discussions with international experts on how the pension system should be structured in the future. A joint initiative between CBS and the Danish pension sector, the conference comprises exciting panel discussions with Danish pension company executives and the field’s leading Danish researcher . Leading American economist Laurence J. Kotlikoff will talk about the importance of the pension system regarding inequality and the distribution of wealth.

Sustainability conference
If topics such as national and global politics, trade and industry, and academic approaches to sustainability catch your interest, attend a two-day conference with expert scholars and practitioners organised by the academic directors of CBS’ Sustainability Platform. Current and cross-disciplinary approaches to sustainability will take centre stage and there will be numerous high-profile speakers, who will also take part in a debate, including : John Robinson (Nobel laureate, University of Toronto), Connie Hedegaard (former European Commissioner for Climate Action, KR Foundation), Dirk Matten (professor of strategy, York University) and Jonas Haertle (UN PRME).

Good advice for young companies
Do you have an entrepreneurial streak? Then don’t miss out on the Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship (CSE) conference “Accelerated Startup Growth”, which wraps up the Danish project “Go Grow” with support from the Danish Industry Foundation. The conference will include presentations on what works and what doesn’t when it comes to generating growth in new businesses. CSE is CBS' environment for start-ups and general manager Karina Rothoff has divulged that a handbook targeting entrepreneurs and others interested in supporting start-ups will be published in connection with the conference.

Lisbeth Knudsen appointed adjunct professor
The democratic model is being challenged by a globalised world, and the general public’s confidence in political parties and the media has eroded significantly. This means that Denmark and numerous other democratic countries need to develop and update their democratic model so that democracy as a system of government can be practiced in the best way possible. Attend the director and managing editor of Mandag Morgen and future CBS adjunct professor Lisbeth Knudsen’s inaugural lecture on democracy and impotence.
