New member of the CBS Board of Directors
The CBS Board is looking forward to welcoming experienced businessman Alfred Josefsen as a new member. He is known for being the CEO of the Danish supermarket Irma for several years and has made a career for himself within retail. Today, he works with management consultancy and holds different directorships, and now he is joining CBS.
- Knowledge is essential to the success of CBS, and CBS is a very important institution when it comes to increasing the competence and knowledge level in Denmark. Therefore I am happy to join the Board and hopefully contribute to an even stronger institution characterised by enthusiasm for learning, teaching and conducting research, says Alfred Josefsen, who knows CBS from the inside. In 1985, he graduated from CBS with an MSc degree.
Today, he is the chairman of the boards of UNICEF Denmark and Sport One and member of the board of the national initiative Madkulturen and the board of the Arla Foundation. He has authored the books "Kære Irma" (dear Irma) and "Min Passion for Ledelse" (leadership - my passion) and is an adjunct professor at the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy at CBS. Alfred Josefsen is replacing Klaus Holse, CEO of SimCorp. He has been on the Board since 2005 and is now leaving after the maximum eight years of directorship as stipulated in the Bylaws of CBS.
- Through his eight years, Klaus Holse has contributed significantly to the CBS Board. He has brought a strong combination of an eye for the challenges of CBS, a welcoming personality and huge knowledge within IT. We will surely miss that. Alfred Josefsen is a competent replacement to the Board. His profile complements the rest of the Board in the best way possible, says Peter Schütze, Chairman of the Board.
Alfred Josefsen takes up the position on 15 June 2013.
