Abstract:
Chinese football is booming these years with massive public interest, huge investments and foreign top players arriving to the Chinese Super League. China and president Xi Jinping wish to put China on the world map of football. More and more clubs invest in professional foreign coaches and experts to help create the right environment and build up successful structures for the Chinese football clubs.
The Chinese sports industry has a proud history developing many Olympic gold medal winners and top athletes. What are the strengths and challenges of China's sports industry? Can the Western world learn from the Chinese methods and mindset?
The lecture will give an exclusive insight into the world of sports in China by a professional insider.
About the speaker:
Mads Davidsen is an expert in Chinese football and has over the past 3 years worked inside professional Chinese football clubs and elite sports schools. Moreover, he has been a football expert on Chinese TV and a column writer for the Chinese media on topics related to football. Mads Davidsen, UEFA Pro-license coach, has a background as U/19-coach and game analyst in Danish football team Brøndby IF as well as director of the Ebbe Sand Soccer Academy in Shanghai. Since 2013, Mads Davidsen has been working as an assistant to the Swede Sven-Göran Eriksson (previously national coach of England). Currently, Mads Davidsen is the coach behind Shanghai SIGP, who recently finished 2nd in the Chinese Super League. Mads Davidsen holds a Msc. Communication from RUC as well as a mini MBA in leadership and management.
