PhD defence: Queralt Prat-i-Pubill

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Queralt Prat-i-Pubill has submitted her thesis entitled: Axiological knowledge in a knowledge driven world. Considerations for organizations

Onsdag, 26 september, 2018 - 12:30 to 14:30

This thesis presents and operationalises the creation of axiological knowledge. Contrary to established beliefs, and although we experience most of our behaviour as intentional and volitional pertaining to our particular nature, we are constituted, in the form of evident, “true” interpretations and understandings of the world, through minimal constituent cultural configurations. This axiological knowledge is collectively shaped by the communication of a constituent speech in the form of narratives, stories, myths, rituals and symbols created to ensure collective survival in specific material conditions. This dissertation explores our current axiological world and studies diverse discursive approaches in regards to the creation of collective motivations. This study shows how linguistic theory could be used to intervene in collectivities creating the required axiological knowledge for knowledge driven societies.
