FRIC tapestry on the financial crisis on display since 2014

The FRIC tapestry outlining the financial crisis from 2008-2013 through 6 key concepts and a timeline now enters its third year on display at the CBS canteen at Solbjerg Plads. The FRIC tapestry is a 20-meter-long account in Danish explaining the financial crisis in 2008 and was crafted by FRIC center leader David Lando in connection with FRIC’s participation at the Science in the City festival in 2014.

- The idea behind the tapestry is to help to understand the mechanics of a financial crisis and we wanted to show 6 of the key concepts that can help explain the crisis and clarify the background behind the crisis, says center leader David Lando.

In addition to the physical tapestry, there is also an online version at www.cbsfrictapet.dk where you can learn more about the evolution of the crisis from the beginning and until 2013 – also in Danish.

- We are very happy to see that the FRIC tapestry is still on display in the canteen and we can see from our online version that people still go in to check it out, concludes David Lando.

About FRIC
The Center for Financial Frictions (FRIC) is a Center of Excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation. The FRIC Center was initiated in April 2012 and is managed by center leader David Lando. The center currently counts 5 professors, 2 associate professors, 4 assistant professors/postdocs and 11 PhD students at CBS. FRIC research analyzes the impact of financial frictions on the prices of financial assets, on economic development and on the design and regulation of financial markets through a theoretical and empirical approach.
