The Department of Finance welcomes four new faculty members
CBS and the Department of Finance are very pleased to welcome four new faculty members in finance:
Katya Malinova joins as associate professor. She comes from a position as assistant professor at the University of Toronto. Her research interests are in market microstructure. Katya will teach corporate finance at the new MSc specialization in Finance and Investments.
Andreas Park joins as professor. He comes from a position as associate professor at the University of Toronto. His research interests are in market microstructure. Andreas will teach the Financial Markets and Instruments course in the MSc specialization in Finance and Strategic Management.
Rémy Praz joins as assistant professor. Rémy graduated in 2014 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). His research interests are within theoretical asset pricing, search frictions, information asymmetry, and commodity and over-the-counter markets. His dissertation examines how frictions in OTC markets spill over and affect open interests, trading volumes, and risk premia on liquid markets. Rémy will teach derivatives at the new MSc specialization in Finance and Investments.
The research of Katya Malinova, Andreas Park and Rémy Praz are all related to financial frictions, and they will be affiliated with the FRIC center.
Morten Sørensen has been appointed professor. Morten comes from a position as associate professor of economics and finance at Columbia Business School. His research focuses on entrepreneurial finance, private equity and venture capital. He is the recipient of a Sapere Aude grant to study capital markets for young Danish companies. Morten will also teach entrepreneurial finance, private equity and venture capital at CBS.
