Donald Trump: The sequel

At this point, Donald Trump appears quite likely to return to the White House at the beginning of 2025. It will be a significant moment for the US itself as well as American allies and partners. Even however if politics or biology prevent Trump from securing a second term, he has made an indelible mark on US political processes. He hasn’t always caused changes himself but he has acted as an accelerant by hastening changes that were already afoot.  In a new article for Political Quarterly Eddie Ashbee (EGB) and Alex Waddan (University of Leicester, UK) argue that American conservatism has changed beyond recognition. And this will prove enduring. The Republicans are no longer Ronald Reagan’s party not even that of George W. Bush.
