Women and men want and make different kinds of trade policy
28/02/2023
As part of an ongoing collaboration with Timm Betz and Diana Z. O'Brien, EGB's David Fortunato has just published an article on how gender representation influences what kind of trade policies parties pursue and governments make. The research team finds that increasing women's representation in parties leads the parties to pursue greater barriers to international trade, and, that increasing women's representation in legislatures and cabinets leads to the adoption of higher tariffs on consumer goods.
Fortunato summarizes on Twitter here.
