Research dissemination at 26th HMA WGEO

Assistant Professor Vishv Priya Kohli was invited to elaborate on the key conclusions and recommendations of her research on combatting counterfeit and falsified medicinal products in the EU in Helsinki.
The presentation took place at the 26th HMA Working Group of Enforcement Officers (WGEO) Meeting during the Finnish EU Presidency held from 11-13 November 2019, at Helsinki Congress Paasitomi, Finland.
The WGEO comprises of representatives of medicinal regulatory authorities, law enforcement authorities, and customs authorities from all the Member States in the EU.
In addition, the EU Commission, PSI, EUROPOL, OLAF, WHO and INTERPOL are also represented at the bi-annual meetings.
Priya focused on the key challenges confronting the EU in combatting counterfeiting and falsification of medicines and offered her perspective on the possible initiatives that may be considered in order to deal with the issue of counterfeit and falsified medicines.
