I characterize myself as a highly interdisciplinary researcher bridging between social and human sciences. Based on my educational background as “psychologist”, I have been engaged in consumer behavior research, marketing management and business development of home appliances and electronics products in both Japanese and Danish high-tech industries in the past two decades. During my PhD, my experience and knowledge was further extended to the academic research on the language technology (semantic networks and knowledge engineering), machine learning, and cognitive sciences.
Utilizing my strong interdisciplinary experience, I was co-heading an externally funded interdisciplinary innovation project, "UMAMI (Understanding Mindset across Markets, Internationally)” funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark (2017-2020), and have obtained a diploma from Harvard Business School on: “Innovation Management Leadership” in 2017. Since 2020, I am leading an industry-academic research project, “iBeauty (Intercultural Personas of Beauty & Values)” in close collaboration with the third largest Japanese cosmetic company, KOSE Corporation. In this project, I am researching on “psychology of beauty” - what it means for a person to be beautiful in various cultural contexts. We are classifying consumers, and analyzing antecedents and consequences of their specific behaviors based on data acquired from various sources such as surveys, experiments, social media and customer databases.
I am a member of the Consumer and Behavioural Insights Group (CBIG) at the CBS Sustainability center.

In Brand and Communications Management, MSc. In Management of Creative Business Process, MSc. in Business Administration and Data Science.
I am welcoming students who can contribute to the aforementioned “iBeauty project” as part of the supervisor’s research project-based master thesis initiative at CBS.
