PRME meeting

Meeting on PRME at Porcelænshaven 18A

24/06/2009

Points at the meeting:

- Need for prioritization in terms of effort areas to focus on (education, research, institutional strategy, teaching methodologies). Particular focus on concrete activities (see agenda) and education efforts in initial phase:

o Need for an intelligent mapping of ongoing education efforts at CBS related to responsible management education. The language/wording in this mapping exercise is extremely important since CSR/sustainability might be misinterpreted by many

o Need for specific focus on the b-school core disciplines such as strategy, economics, accounting, finance, marketing, OM and entrepreneurship

o Do not forget the student needs and demands – are they really interested? And not only focus on their future careers but also about ethical reasoning in their student life

o Development of a ‘PRME toolkit’ with literature, cases, media, models etc for each discipline

- Discussion about how PRME links to the overall CBS strategy and its unique selling points is very important. It is necessary to identify the specific CBS contribution to the PRME agenda and realize how to make CBS unique in that sense:

o Cross-disciplinarity/cross-thematic approach

o Scandinavian Leadership

o Scandinavian welfare model

o Copenhagen stands for Climate

- The process needs to be long-term oriented and based on dialogue, discussion and invitation:

o The importance of setting up a steering committee was underlined

o To help drive the initiative forward and create ownership possible ambassadors need to be identified

o Involve all possible areas and disciplines in concrete activities (progress report, conferences, workshops)
