On the Barriers to Intra- and Interfirm Knowledge Transfer

The Center for Strategic Management and Globalization invites you to mini-conference.

The purpose of the conference is to improve the understanding of knowledge transfer barriers within and between firms.

Two key note speeches by Linda Argote (Carnegie Mellon) and Gabriel Szulanski (INSEAD) and paper presentations will provide for extensive discussion and answer many of the unanswered questions within this field including:

  • What are the barriers that restrict individual, unit or firm level knowledge transfer?

  • Under what conditions is knowledge most likely to be transferred?

  • To what degree are conventional knowledge transfer mechanisms (such as trainings, information or motivational systems) in fact potential barriers to knowledge transfer?
