IAME 2009 International Conference: Understanding Shipping Markets

In june 2009, Center for Shipping Economics and Innovation is co-organizing of the annual international IAME conference

Within the main theme ’Understanding the Shipping Market, this year’s IAME conference gathers international researchers within the field of Maritime Economics and representatives from industry and government to discuss the present situation and future prospects in the maritime sector.

Our goal with this year’s conference is not only to ensure the ongoing dialogue between researchers within the field of maritime economics, but also to enhance the knowledge- and information sharing between the industry, maritime research, and educational institutions as well as other stakeholders in the maritime sector.

The future development of the maritime sector

By participating in the IAME conference, researchers, companies and students are given a unique opportunity to increase their network within the broader maritime sector, and to gain an insight into the latest research results, trends as well as the current- and future development within the area. All participants are invited to engage actively in a discussion about the future development of the maritime sector.

Keynote speakers include Minister for Economic and Business Affairs Lene Espersen, Lone Fønss Schrøder (Wallenius Lines, SE) , and Frank G. Jensen (CEO Clipper Group).

Center for Shipping Economics and Innovation

Center for Shipping Economics and Innovation is a research collaboration at CBS with participation of senior researchers at the Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics (INO), the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy (LPF), the Department of Operations Management (OM), the Law Department (LAW), the Department of Intercultural Management and Communication (IKL) and the Department of International Economics and Management (INT). The Centre was established in October 2008 and is directed by associate professor Henrik Sornn-Friese.
