About the film:

The Migrants (2009, in Spanish and a little Aymara and Quechua, with English subtitles)

Three migrants from the Bolivian rural districts have migrated to the urban environment in search of a better life. Here they experience the harsh realities of a globalised world. They live in different countries but they all long to be back in their village. Florencio is an illegal immigrant in Spain. His brother, Gregorio, works hard as a seamstress in Argentina. He will spend all his savings on paying for the annual fête in the village back home in Bolivia. Young Sonia works as a domestic help in the capital of Bolivia. She dreams of quitting the monotonous domestic work and getting an education as a village nurse.
